I bought pork ribs and went to prepare them for the slow cooker in the forenoon when I realized that I did non have BBQ sauce! I never fabricated BBQ sauce from scratch before so I checked Allrecipes.com similar I always exercise. I chose this one considering I had all the ingredients on hand. It was VERY adept! I doubled the recipe...and I added a teaspoon of cayenne pepper to requite it a picayune spice with the sweetness. I would do as some other poster said and omit the h2o. I was going to give this recipe a 5 star rating but realized that wasn't fair considering I had to make several changes. Like other reviewers I removed the water. I also seasoned the ribs and threw them on the grill to get a nice caramelization on all sides. I like to call this dish my "everything but the kitchen sink ribs." I have done this recipe before and it turned out great! This time I used chocolate-brown carbohydrate, molasses and honey (since they were all in the closet). I added the juice from i/2 an orange (considering information technology was in the fridge). I used i can of tomato paste and 1 can of tomato sauce (I doubled the recipe and didn't have ii cans of paste). I threw in some garlic and used apple cider vinegar (becuase I think information technology gives it a better flavor). This recipe is a great base of operations recipe like other reviewers stated. I recommend y'all get creative and see what y'all take in your cupboards or fridge and change it up a little. Last time I used wasabi mustard instead of regular and information technology was delish!

This recipe came out terrific. I seasoned the ribs with common salt and pepper and so seared them on all sides earlier calculation them to the Irksome Cooker. The searing made for a nice, caramelized crust on the outside of the ribs. Cooked these for seven hours on Low. At that place was some grease so I just captivated it off the top using tongs and a newspaper towel. Super!

My family loved this. I did brand some changes based on previous reviews: Seared the beef short ribs in olive oil. Beer instead of h2o, Added: honey, cayenne pepper, dried onion. Toward the end, I thickened the sauce with some flour/cornstarch. Served it on some rice.

This was super piece of cake and super skillful! The but change I would brand for next fourth dimension would be to Non add the water, because it actually thins out the sauce. I took the advice of other reviewers and seared the meat for a few minutes before adding them to the irksome cooker. Also, I would trim the fat beforehand, because it was messy to endeavor and do it after. Yummy, thanks for the recipe!

There was way also much sauce and I even used 3 lbs of ribs instead of two. Proficient flavor, just too much. Also, I don't know if it was merely the ribs I got or if all beefiness ribs are this way, but in that location was no meat on them! After they cooked, in that location was about an inch of fat in a wide six qt. slow cooker and perchance a bite of meat on each rib, if that. Very disappointing.

I prepared the sauce in a sauce pan before adding it to the ribs. I simmered it a chip to reduce the liquid. I seared the ribs showtime, so poured about one-half of the sauce on the ribs in the ho-hum cooker. The remainder of the sauce nosotros used for dipping. I actually cooked the ribs on low for over 10 hours. They fell correct off the bone and were excellent. The flavor of the sauce on the beefiness ribs was terrific.

I've made this several times and information technology's always a hit. I eliminate the water and utilize apple cider vinegar. I as well sear the meat beforehand. I'm non the best cook but I get this one correct every time.

Simple, like shooting fish in a barrel, and tasty. Definitely a winner! I didn't have an oven to piece of work with where I was cooking so a number of the other slow cooker recipes that required pre-braising and the like didn't piece of work for me. I made it pretty much exactly as written except for cooking on high for about v hours. Everyone enjoyed information technology and I'll be calculation it to my regular repertoire.

Delicious. Made it 2 days in a row! Yesterday, I pretty much followed the recipe, except I didn't have vinegar so I substituted information technology with apple tree juice. Today, instead of 2 lbs. I made five lbs. using the same measurements. There was plenty of sauce and the beef ribs were fantastic. My husband, his brother, and female parent all loved it! Give thanks y'all!

I'm realistic and realize that slow cooker ribs are not going to be as proficient as grilled, however these are so piece of cake, tender, moist and tasty, they are very, very respectable and well worth the effort. I used bison ribs and information technology worked out extremely well. Adjacent time I'll sear them on the grill before serving just to get a petty of that char flavour.

Delicious!! Per others' communication, I seared the beef before paw and omitted the water. I actually used 4lbs of "brusque ribs." (from my experience back ribs yields piffling meat with a lot of fat). I get-go seasoned the beef with some salt and black pepper. Then I seared information technology. I used the same corporeality of sauce and there was nevertheless plenty for all the meat. I did try to remove extra fat from the meat before getting started. Yummy

Awesome! I followed the recipes exactly, except I only added about one/4 water, bc I like thick sauce. I cooked these on warm for about 10 hours, bc my crockpots depression setting stil sometimes gets too hot. Next time I may employ pork ribs, bc beef ribs arent my fave- as well much fatty and hardly any meat. Served over rice with extra sauce, super yummy!

I added half a onion and used apple cider vinegar instead (because thats what I had). Cooked it on loftier for two hours and then on depression for well-nigh 4.5 hours. The sauce never thickened, in fact it was more of a liquid. Definitely had a more than tomato taste and so BBQ. Nevertheless good though!

Dainty recipe. I gave the short ribs a brusque roast to brownish on the gas grill, because it was a hot day.Used my ain BBQ sauce recipe. And then, added to the crock pot. I did more than ribs than indicated in the recipe, so information technology wasn't too much sauce. In my "slow cooker" it took near 1 hour on loftier and 5 hours on low to achieve tender perfection, without over cooking.

Peachy beginner recipe. The BBQ sauce tin can be tweaked in many different ways to suit many different tastes. I added some liquid smoke to mine and it turned out fantastic, even my picky 5 year old loved it and kept telling me how smashing my dinner was!! However, I like a thick BBQ sauce, and then next time I volition be leaving out the water or at to the lowest degree cut it back. I doubled this recipe and made 5 pounds of ribs, there was a ton of leftover sauce, so I kept information technology to play around with and employ on another meals. Only made this recipe, and it was superb! Even my finicky hubby said it was a "keeper". We had very fatty ribs, and then when the meat was gear up & cooked, I de-boned and scrapped as much fat off that I could so scooped upward the grease. By the time I finished, the sauce had thickened and I served information technology over rice- yum, yum! Next time I might experiment with reducing the sugar a niggling, to cutting calories. I can encounter calculation pineapple chunks, bell peppers, and even orange to this. Cheers so much for a wonderful BBQ sauce base, just every bit it is! Love it!

Not the recipes fault by any means, but bought 1/2 beef & concluded up with odds & ends not sure what to do with-aka short ribs. Looked up recipes to make them & this looked pretty good. Would take probably cooked longer to go more tender. Manner also much bone, fat, gristle, etc on the meat for our gustation. A lot of waste on this cutting of meat. Adjacent time I'll tell the butcher to proceed or throw away. Like I said, not the recipes fault, simply admittedly won't affect over again with a ten foot pole.

Recipe was ok. I followed some recommendations in reviews. Get out out the h2o and sear before putting in slow cooker. Even without the water sauce was a little as well watery for my liking. I as well added near 1tsp of cayenne (could've used a trivial more than) to add some spice. I used balsamic vinegar. I didnt season ribs but highly recommend it. Someone else said it perfectly, " recipe is expert base of operations to start from." Will try it once more with some additions and see how it comes out.

Delish. I too would omit at least half the water and maybe add together some garlic. I used 3/iv Dijon mustard and ane/4 hot English language mustard. I might make information technology half and one-half side by side time. Also I'd recommend making it the night before and skimming off the fat the next morn as the ribs are very fatty. I served it with greenish beans and rice since it needed some vegetables.

I loved the simplicity of the bootleg bbq sauce!! I did change the mustard for dearest mustard and used beef broth instead of water, instead of regular vinegar i used apple cider vinegar. Thanks Sharon! While this is a great recipe every bit is, I fabricated a few minor changes that I believe improves on the original. First, I never use the h2o; it comes out fine without it. Second, add a little Worcestershire sauce, a sprinkle of liquid fume, and a diced onion. 3rd, quickly brown the meat before adding to irksome cooker. Go for the long booty with the slow cooker, viii-10 hrs on low. I also smoke a lot of meat and oft drip some of what I cook the final 60 minutes or so with some of this sauce. I just cook the sauce down for near half an hr and information technology works bully. Sometimes I get in a solar day in advance. The sauce is good served forth side smoked or grilled meat.

I took the advice of others and left OUT the one cup of h2o, which was a wise determination, TY all for that tip. Merely I am wondering if they would be even better if one substituted the one cup of ketchup, with 1 loving cup of BBQ sauce? I also, every bit others did, omitted the water. I added half white vinegar and one-half apple tree cider vinegar to make 1/ii loving cup. Made the rest as written, and heated on the stove to melt the brown sugar (information technology was a stone). I too added some honey, merely then it tasted too sweet and ketchuppy, so I added common salt, pepper, two capfuls of liquid smoke, and a few shakes of cayenne pepper and smoked paprika. Perfect. Fantastic--don't look whatever farther for some other home barbecue sauce!!! I but gave this a 4 instead of a 5 rating because of the modifications I made reading other reviews. I used one/4 c water (the crock pot generates enough water during the cooking process and it would h2o down the yummy sauce if more this corporeality of water is used), I added ane/4 c onion and 2T honey. I as well seared the ribs outset. It took vii hours on low to cook and I got raves!!!!!!! Information technology is absolutely succulent. I used pork and beefiness ribs.

Made this with beef brusque ribs. Too much liquid and also sweet I seasoned the raw ribs with salt, garlic powder and pepper and then seared in the broiler until just caramelized before putting them into the slow cooker. To the pot I reduced brown carbohydrate to 1/2 cup, swapped water with iii/four cup of apple tree cider vinegar. I added i large sliced onion, 2 Tbsp hot sauce and 3 gloves of minced garlic and ii tsps. of liquid smoke. Let cook for 8 hours and they were delish!

I only kept mine on for vii hours and the ribs are So dry out. Taste was good... Will do like another reviewer and set my slow cooker to warm for ten hours. I likewise just used well-nigh 1/iv cup of water and besides added some cayenne pepper. Taste was great, but the ribs were then dry, so it kind of ruined the meal for me. I loved the flavor and tenderness of the meat. I was low on ketchup and so substituted Webers BBQ Real Molasses sauce for ketchup. I had lots of sauce left over so probably could have added another half pound of ribs.

OH MY GOSH... Is all I tin say. I more often than not stay abroad from crockpot recipes bc they don't always turn out great. This is an exception. Super easy to make and fall off the bone succulent!! I simply added 1/four cup of water bc nosotros go out it in the crockpot for ten+ hours and I didn't want it to dry out out. Actually actually proficient!!!

Cooked for the holidays and some serious ribs fans loved them. Like many other reviewers, I made several changes to the bones sauce. We similar thicker sauce that'south more sweet than savory, so I cut down the liquid past over half and used chicken stock instead of water. Even though I doubled the sauce recipe for about vii lbs. of ribs, I still used only 1/ii-c craven stock. Substituted apple cider vinegar for regular and used merely 2/three-c for the doubled recipe. Used three/4-c dark-brown carbohydrate and added 3/iv -c honey (sounds super sugariness, merely it wasn't). Other additions (few dashes each to-gustatory modality) -- cayenne pepper / garlic powder / onion powder / cinnamon / Worcestershire sauce. I cooked down the sauce to thicken information technology and set 1-c bated for dipping before adding the rest to crock pot with ribs. Finally, I cooked ribs on depression for 6 hours, let the pot cool and skimmed off fat earlier reheating to serve.

This was very banal. There is no seasoning, basically the only flavor that it had was a ketchup lycopersicon esculentum flavor. In no mode at all can or should this be chosen BBQ anything. I tasted the sauce before I started cooking and then tried to season it up to resemble a bbq sauce only information technology did non assist. It was edible but I will not make it over again. We were very disappointed.

OK, it came out bully, I would cut h2o back to i/2 cup, I also added 1/4 cup Texas Pete hot sauce, 1 TBS liquid smoke, and 4 TBS honey barbecue sauce. I cooked on loftier in slow cooker iii 1/2 hrs then three hrs on low, meat fell correct off basic, regular beefiness ribs (ii Lbs)

Very good! I omitted the water based on the other reviews. I didn't accept any tomato plant paste so I used lycopersicon esculentum sauce. The sauce was a little too ketchup-y for me and so I added another 1/4 cup of brownish saccharide and that helped a lot.

I have no thought where all these other reviewers are coming from. Accept you ever found an sometime ketchup package, opened information technology and the kickoff thing that hits you lot is that obnoxiously strong vinegar olfactory property? Yeah. That's what this is similar. I followed these directions to the alphabetic character, and it tasted like warm vinegar and ketchup. This was no resemblance of BBQ sauce. Pungent and runny. Wasted perfectly good boneless beef ribs. But goes to evidence you, some recipes and reviews but tin't be trusted. I'll definitely find a unlike recipe adjacent time.

This recipe is smashing! The ribs came out so tender. I made a few changes though. I used apple tree cider vinegar because that'due south all I had. I cut the carbohydrate to 1/2 cup and I reduced the water a little. I also added 1 onion, 1 apple, some carrot peelings, cayenne pepper, paprika, crushed red pepper, a few cloves of garlic, and veggie seasoning. I think the sauce was a piddling sweet for ribs for my families taste, only nosotros ate it the next mean solar day on domicile fries and it was fine. A few days later nosotros had information technology on chicken and it was great. I will reduce the saccharide more adjacent time to brand upwardly for the water reduction. There is a lot of sauce, but that is slap-up because you tin freeze it and utilize it afterward.

So I did Non like the sauce. I did as others said and seared the meat and omited the water. The meat was perfect and tender. However, the sauce was awful to me! Information technology tasted like brown sugar and vinegar, which it basically is! Next time I volition just use commercial BBQ sauce.

Horrible Ketchupque! We followed this recipe to the letter of the alphabet. The results were awful. The olfactory property is nauseating, a miasma of oily meat and Heinz ketchup. The sauce leaves a sickly-sweet aftertaste that coats the tongue for hours. The meat was dry and initially shocked the tastebuds with an unpleasant sweetness that finished with a disagreeable vinegar tang. Overall, the dish is more like bad Sauerbraten than barbeque. What a waste of practiced beef ribs. We won't be making this one again!

Nosotros never had any success cooking ribs before I found this recipe. Did it exactly as the recipe chosen for, except left the irksome cooker on high between half-dozen and 8 hours, depending on the time we got them prepare. We found that by cooking them on high for a longer time, the meat just falls off of the ribs equally we take it out of the tedious cooker, So no chewing it off of the bones and not equally messy to eat.
